4 of your summer festival essentials

Festival season is well under way in this British summer time. We have already seen the likes of Glastonbury and Boom Town Fair go off without a hitch, but the fun’s not over yet…there are plenty more fun-filled weekends of camping ahead. Whether you’re planning to dance the night away outdoors or go glamping with loved ones – we thought we would create a buying guide for your camping essentials.

1) Blanket

No matter how great the weather is during the day – there’s no denying that in an open field with no central heating or carpets on hand…the temperature will drop. One of the main reasons festivals are held in the summer is to decrease the chance of freezing to death; but it still gets a bit nippy when you’re trying to sleep underneath, lets face it, sheets of water resistant fabric.

Make sure you stay warm and cosy with our range of blankets and snuggle wraps; we not only have picnic blankets to lay on the ground but our blanket range from Dreamscene are only  £3.95 and available in a wide variety of bright colours, so you can always find it in the dark.

2) Absorbent towel

British weather is highly unpredictable, so it’s always best to pack a durable towel when sleeping in the big outdoors. Even if its hot and sunny, you may need to take a shower or jump in a lake – so a reliable towel should be high on your list.

We have  a massive selection of towels available, but we know you’re going to need to save space when packing for an entire weekend – so why not try our egyptian cotton range from Catherine Lansfield? In sizes from face cloth to bath towel for as little as £0.80 – the toweling effect is highly absorbent and can be machine washed again and again.

3) Highly-washable pillow

You have to take a pillow to a festival. Unless you enjoy resting your head on a pile of clothes or rolled up scarf at home, a comfortable pillow will always be an essential. However, camping in the mud, the rain, the mess and the overall effects of outdoor living will have an affect – so be sure to take an affordable, synthetic, easily-washed pillow instead of your favourite feather and down.

Our own branded Linens Limited polycotton, polyester hollowfibre pillow is not only soft and warm, but can be washed over and over again as well as go into the tumble dryer for extra fast drying after use.

4) Laundry bag

Probably not the most obvious item on the list, but definitely an essential. The last thing you want when packing up from a festival is to get all  your dirty laundry muddled in with the rest of your stuff. Keep everything separate and ready to be thrown in the wash when you get home with our linen laundry bag from Sashi Bed Linen for £8.95.

You can even buy a cosmetic bag to match if you need to keep your make up and face wash safe and tidy, you will thank us when you’re back home and too exhausted to unpack.
