The Linens Limited 2020 Christmas Survey Results Are In!

This year we wanted to find out how you love to decorate your home at Christmas. In our huge survey, more than 1,200 of you told us your preferred colour scheme, what your favourite decorations are, how many trees you like to buy and how much you like to spend every year on transforming your home for the festive season.

We also asked you how the events of this year have affected your desire to decorate. Regional Comparison

The survey revealed a very specific North-South divide, placing Londoners as the Scrooges of England and the North East as the champions of Christmas decorating.

Of all the regions, London will do the least amount of decorating – 16.3% of Londoners say they don’t decorate their home for Christmas. In contrast, the 35.7% of the North East said they go ‘all out’ with their decorating.

Londoners are the most likely to not put up a tree – 9.6% said they wouldn’t be doing so this year. In contrast, 92.7% of those in the North East said they are planning on putting up a tree.

However, the coronavirus could be the result of this lack of London lustre for Christmas 2020. When asking if the events of this year have affected their desire to decorate, Londoners are also the most likely to state that they were going to ‘tone down’ their decorations this year. The South West are planning to make the most of this year, with 29.8% stating they will, ‘make even more of an effort this year’
