When it comes to bathroom cleaning, keeping on top of it is a must. It’s very easy to keep your bathroom looking perfect, by simply making sure you clean once you’ve used it each time. However, it is a room that often gets neglected, and doing so can make your bathroom look rather dingy. With that in mind, here are some tips for keeping your bathroom “visitor ready” at all times. Trust me, guests DO notice these things!
Bathroom Bins
First step is to choose a bathroom bin with care. Many people choose an open bin for ease of use, but considering one with a lid will ensure that you’re reminded to change the bin bag more often, as the lid won’t close. Sounds simple, but it does push you to empty it, and it looks tidier than an open one.
Spritz after shower, blast after bath
The simplest thing, but it can make a HUGE difference to the look of your bathroom. Every time you get out of the shower, spritz it with cleaner and wipe the shower screen. It takes 2 minutes. Similarly, after bathing, blast the bath with a little cleaner and a wipe round with the cloth, and you’ll avoid those soap scum marks that people dread.
Tile care
This is one thing guaranteed to make your bathroom look dingy. Recommendations suggest cleaning the grouting between the tiles weekly, to avoid build up of dirt. Again, wiping the actual tiles each time you bathe or shower is a good idea too.
Laundry Baskets
A great idea to stop the “wet towel” problem. Choose a laundry basket with a waterproof liner and it will be able to hold towels and dirty clothes with ease.
Towels
Always have a spare set of guest towels for visitors. Keep them handy and then whip them into place quick as a flash once your guests turn up. Throw all the “usual” towels in the laundry basket. If they’re still clean, then retrieve them as soon as your guests leave.
Cleaning products
Keeping your cleaning products for your bathroom in your bathroom cabinet is a must. Who wants to go downstairs to the cleaning cupboard? Many people would forget what they’d gone down there for and then the bathroom would be missed. Keep them at eye level if possible, and then every time you open the cupboard, you’ll be reminded to give your bathroom a quick wipe down. Simple!
Remembering the above tips will help to make sure you’re not in trouble if you have uninvited guests. Happy cleaning!
