How to make a hotel bed at home

We all love staying in luxury hotels, the beds are always comfy and the free turn-down service and clean bed sheets are a real treat. Sadly, not all of us can afford the time or money to stay in hotels every weekend, so how can you create the same luxury in your bedroom?

We’ve got some tricks up our sleeves that will help you transform your bedroom into a five star boudoir;

  1. Make it white
    High end and luxury designers for hotel rooms will almost always choose fresh, white sheets to create a clean, inviting oasis to all guests. Faded patterns or mismatched colours will not look as opulent so save them for wash day.Linens-hotel
  2. Buy three hundred sheets
    Don’t panic, we don’t mean this literally. Thread count plays an important factor in high end accommodation, look for three hundred thread count sheets – with a flat sheet, middle sheet and fitted sheet on your mattress in plush egyptian cotton you’re sure to feel like a royal.Linens-hotel1
  3. All of the pillows
    Extra comfort means extra comfort – you may only sleep with one pillow, but having at least 3 on your bed will give you a more luxurious experience. Mix up the comforts with feather and down mixed with synthetic so you can arrange them according to your sleep preference, just like a hotel.Linen-hotelpillow
  4. Invest in your mattress
    When it comes to mattresses, you get what you pay for. Sure, an affordable mattress will serve its purpose; however when staying in a five star hotel most of the comfort comes from a good quality mattress, without the right support – you’re not going to have a restful sleep.linen-hotelmattress
  5. Turn yourself down
    You don’t need to have a maid come in and get your room ready to sleep in; simply get the lighting just right, some lavender spray or a chocolate on your own pillow and after a warm bath you’ll feel just as relaxed and look forward to climbing into your soft bed sheets.linens-hotelturndown
