Essential bed linen for Autumn

Well, the weather is finally on the turn, and those cool breezes are getting a little colder. Yes, you’ve guessed it; we’re now officially into autumn.  Autumn to many people is a great season, and it’s also a good excuse to wrap up a little warmer and make the house more cosy, and what better way to snuggle up and get warm is with the purchase of new autumn bed linen. With this in mind, we highlight some of the essential bedlinen purchases for autumn.

Colour Schemes

Autumn is a time for red, oranges and browns in many people’s minds, but there are also a host of other colours that can have the same effect as these cosy colours. Deep reds can turn to rich purples and pinks and browns can turn to bronze to create a cosy bed that you’ll be hard pressed to get out of. However, you should avoid having too much of one colour in the room itself, so leave your bed as the main colour and accent small items around in complementing colours to ensure that it’s not “too much”.

Material

It’s time to pull the duvet out again. A good duvet can make you feel super cosy this Autumn and if you choose a great autumnal duvet cover, then your bedroom will be a haven for you in the colder months. Choose heavier material for your duvet cover with the highest thread count you can, and partner this up with throws made from thicker fabric for those extra cool mornings.

If you’re unsure as to what would look best, with regards to colour combinations this autumn, you should certainly take a look at the Bed in a Bag offers on our Ben Linen page. There are some stunning brown and gold combinations, such as the Dreamscene Marisa or you could even go for something more daring and choose the Leopard bed in a bag. The colours are perfect for autumn, but if you want something a bit brighter, perhaps the Dreamscene Monika would be a good idea. With its rich pink accented by bold black, this will be one set you could use to make your bedroom stylish but warm and cosy too.

Whatever you choose for these autumnal months, make sure you don’t overheat your room with central heating, as it can dry the air more and make you more likely to have a dry throat and feel like the colder weather is getting you down. Instead, opt for a higher tog duvet, with one of our great duvet covers and see the autumn through in style.
