After receiving 25% of your votes, Emily from Prosecco and Petals was crowned the winner of our inaugural Linens Limited Rising Star competition.

We asked Emily to share her story, in a bid to inspire other budding interiors aficionados, and who knows – this might be you next year…

Well, what an exciting summer this has been! Sunshine for more than three and a half days and a cheeky ‘Linens Limited Rising Star’ win for little old me! I’ve had my home Instagram account @prosecco_and_petals for a little over a year now and I’ve loved seeing it grow and develop its own style.

I never set out as a proper ‘interiors’ page (that kind of stuff is for far fancier people than me!) but purely as a way to document our new build home without annoying my friends. I was always a little terrified when we made our new build choices. Choosing an entire kitchen, bathrooms and flooring from the tiny samples was exciting but nerve-wracking… if it all looked awful there was only myself to blame!

When we moved into our home however, I just loved it all and still do. I am now enjoying tweaking, painting and adding all the little touches to our home. I am still surprised that people like to follow me, enjoy my content and even voted for me to win the Linens Limited Rising Star competition.

What I have also discovered along the way is what a positive, kind and welcoming community Instagram can be, and what a fabulous place for discovering new brands and independent, small businesses. Linens Limited is certainly a brilliant find… I have discovered so many beautiful things on their website that will fit into my home and, with my very generous voucher, I have ordered some beautiful throws and some gorgeous Egyptian cotton bedding which I cannot wait to share with you when they arrive!

I find throws such a practical way to transition a home from summer to autumn and add warmth and texture. I am not a ‘clutter’ person but throws and cushions are a different matter! Keep an eye on my Instagram to see how I style these in my home.

My next focus is definitely going to be bedrooms. I adore our master bedroom but our other bedrooms have been mainly left until now. My plan is to give each bedroom an identity of its own over the next year or so, which I am sure Linens Limited will be able to help with along the way!
