Linens Limited Rising Star 2019 – Your Winner

Rising Star 2019

Over the past few weeks, we’ve been hunting for the next big thing in interiors styling. The competition was fierce with five beautiful homes and their owners up for the title of Linens Limited Rising Star, but with your help, we have crowned this year’s winner.

Following weeks of campaigning from our dedicated entrants, we have been inundated with votes, but the poll has now closed and we’re delighted to announce that Our Beautiful Bellway is your Linens Limited Rising Star 2019!

Gillian, who runs Our Beautiful Bellway, is this year’s Linens Limited Rising Star, winning herself the accolade and a £150 voucher to spend on the site.

A few words from our winner…

Here’s what Gillian had to say about her victory:

“Well, what can I say? Except WOW! It feels amazing to be 2019’s Linens Limited Rising Star. I was just so honoured to be a nominee, but to actually be the winner? Words cannot express how happy and thankful I am.

“I would like to express my huge thanks to Linens Limited for selecting me as a nominee alongside four other truly stunning home accounts. We all deserved to be winners. So, congratulations to them too. I have certainly found four gorgeous new accounts to follow on Instagram.

“I am so excited to showcase some amazing products from Linens Limited in my home very soon, all thanks to this excellent competition.

“Finally, a huge thanks to each and every person who took the time to vote. Without you guys, I would not be able to enjoy this wonderful opportunity. So, thank you, from the bottom of my heart.”

How would you describe your interior styling?

“I would describe my interior styling as rather varied. I do love all styles and try my best to mix them throughout the house with my own twist. Like most people, I am a lover of all things grey, but I do love all the neutral tones and I am slowly adding them into our home.

“The living room and our bedroom are very much cool, comfy and classy with greys and metallics finished with soft furnishing (I love a pom pom or two!). The kitchen takes a bit of a modern farmhouse feel with neutral tones – I love my contrasting kitchen units. The kids’ room is where I play a bit with colour. My daughter’s room is blush pink with gold, and my son’s room is monochrome with mustard yellow.

“I love the Scandinavian style and this plays a big part in my son’s room and the playroom. I see my house as a home and we don’t decorate very often as I’ve styled it the way I’m happy with it and it takes time. We are also a new build, so it’s one room at a time. Everything else needs to be practically done because of the kids. But for a quick change-up, I usually just add in new accessories or soft furnishing – never underestimate an accessory.”

Where do you get your inspiration from?

“My inspiration comes from a few places – mainly Instagram and Pinterest. My love for interiors started with Pinterest but it very much came together when I started my Instagram home account.

“Documenting my journey has really helped me to design how I wanted our home to look. I don’t really like to copy anyone as such, but it’s definitely nice to get some inspiration and put your own twist on things. There are also so many friendly and encouraging people to chat with and some amazing small businesses to buy from.”

Have you got any big projects in the pipeline for your home?

“No big projects in the pipeline – but the next area to get a makeover is our hallways, stairs and landing, which I can’t wait to start. This will be getting done mid-August. I already have the wallpaper and paint and it’s hopefully going to look amazing. It has just been magnolia for two years, so it will be nice to give it a bit of life.”
