However you choose to brighten up your home, some simple colour wheel guidance and the latest colours can help you create your look. From clashing pastels and deep shades to calming complementary tones, there’s something for everyone with these latest colours for your home.

Yellow rose

If you’re looking for an especially bright and sunny style for summer, why not try pairing the palest of pinks with yellow. This look works great with both a bright and eye catching yellow as well as a sandier tone. Purple is positioned opposite yellow on the colour wheel and is often used to help balance out the sometimes overstated colour, so this pastel rose colour is a unique twist on an otherwise tried and tested design.

Work yellow extensively into your furnishings including rugs, cushions and blinds. Then use a pale pink sparingly with additional cushions and accents around the room. Purple haze

This purple colour scheme creates a unique soothing environment thanks to deep meadow violets and rich plums. The whole look is then balanced with subtle pink toned lilacs. The best thing about this colour scheme is its simplicity; using shades from the same colour family means it’s easy to execute and hard to go wrong. Light and dark

Opt for a sophisticated colour clash by pairing dark black or grey shades with soft pastel tones. This colour combination works especially well with light chalky pinks. Additionally, dark grey creates a unique urban twist on a feminine style. If you want a striking yet elegant look with a twist, this could just be the colour scheme for you.

Complementary pastel colours

If you like the simplicity of a colour scheme that uses complementary colours or shades from the same family but want a lighter look than our purple haze style, why not try complementary pastels. You can try this look with any colour, but pastel greens are set to be the must have colours for 2017. With a mix of tones, from deeper grassy shades to lighter zesty greens, this colour scheme is both bright and calming.

Choose your favourite pastels and use soft home furnishings and cushions to create your look. Pastel and light duck egg blues can also look great with shades of green.
